Association of Critical Heritage Studies (ACHS)

The Association of Critical Heritage Studies (ACHS) is a network of scholars and researchers working in the broad and interdisciplinary field of heritage studies. Its primary aim is to promote heritage as an area of critical enquiry. To this end, the Association works to promote dialogue and networking between researchers from different fields and disciplinary backgrounds and between researchers, practitioners and activists.

The Associaion of Critical Heritage Studies was officially established with the inaugural conference Re/theorising heritage, hosted by the University of Gothenburg in June, 2012. ACHS hosts biannual conferences, the next one planned for Hangzhou 2018, and is supported by the International Journal of Heritage Studies.
